CMRI Update, Summer 2022

In July the secular priests affiliated with the CMRI had their semi-annual priests’ meeting in Omaha, Nebraska. A group picture was taken at the end. You can see a larger version by clicking on the image. Our Father Le can be seen in the front row, fourth from the right.


Solemnity of Corpus Christi 2022

Fr. Stephen Sandquist from Persia, Iowa, visited us the weekend of June 18/19, 2022, switching with Fr. Le. The 10:00 am Mass celebrated the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, which included a beautiful outdoor procession. You can see images posted in our Corpus Christi 2022 Album.


The Congregation of the Mother of God (2022 Update)

Some new pictures from the Mater Dei Sisters in Persia, Iowa. On Easter Monday, April 18, Sr. Margaret Mary (Bohman), Sr. Stephanie Marie, Sr. Evangeline Marie, and Sr. Mary Imelda took their first-year vows. On Easter Tuesday, April 19, Sr. Mary Martina, Sr. Noël Marie, and Sr. Maria Antonia took their final vows. See photos in the CMD Sisters Update Album. The Congregation now has a total of 36 members, including 4 novices. Deo gratias!


Advent and Christmas Season 2021/22

Academy Students visit Shrine of Holy Relics & go Bowling

On Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, the students of St. Therese’s Academy, joined by some other children of the parish, went on a trip to the Shrine of the Holy Relics at Maria Stein, Ohio. The shrine is home to one of the largest collections of relics in the United States.

After this edifying visit, everyone stopped by McBo’s Lanes at nearby Versailles for some genuine bowling fun before returning home. Check out the pictures in our Outing to Maria Stein & Bowling Fun Album.


St. Therese Academy’s 2021 Spring Program

On Saturday, May 8, 2021, the students of St. Therese’s Academy offered a potpourri of prayers, songs, poems, skits, and patriotic presentations to ring out the school year. The closing ceremony included a recognition of academic honors and was followed by a hearty potluck supper. Photos are available in our 2021 Academy Spring Program Album.


St. Therese Academy’s 2020 Christmas Play

After Mass on the Fourth Sunday of Advent, Dec. 20, the students of St. Therese’s Academy presented Christmas carols, followed by an elaborate play entitled The Noel Candle at the Y in Lebanon. Christmas Midnight Mass (2020)

Children’s All Saints’ Day Party (2020)

Sr. Mary Theresa and Sr. Mary Clare put together a fun and educational All Saints’ Day party for our younger Catholics, who all dressed up in saints’ costumes. Plenty of pictures are posted in our 2020 All Saints’ Day Party Album.


The Congregation of the Mother of God (2020 Update)

Every year October 11 marks the patronal feast of the Congregatio Matris Dei, the Congregation of the Mother of God, for it is the feast of the Divine Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This year the CMD Sisters, two of whom teach at our parochial school, have as many as four postulants, in addition to two novices. Here is a photo of the entire Congregation gathered at their motherhouse in Persia, Iowa. Click on the image for a larger version.



Catechism Week 2020

This year our Summer Catechism Week took place from July 6-10. We were honored to host His Excellency, Bishop Mark Pivarunas, as well as Sr. Mary Theresa, Sr. Maria Franziska, and Sr. Maria Goretti from the Congregation of the Mother of God (Congregatio Matris Dei), who spent five days to teach sacred doctrine to the members of our parish, young and old. St. Therese Academy’s 2019 Christmas Play

After Holy Mass on Sunday, Dec. 15, the students of St. Therese’s Academy presented Christmas carols followed by a magnificent play entitled A Winter Story at a rented venue at Camp Kern in Oregonia. It was accompanied by a generous potluck luncheon and very well attended. Even some non-parishioners joined us. The Congregation of the Mother of God (2019 Update)

Welcome Party for Fr. Le and the Mater Dei Sisters

On Sep. 14, 2019, we had our official welcome party for Fr. Tien Le, our new pastor, and for the Sisters of the Congregation of the Mother of God (CMD) who now teach at our little school. The event took place at Bob and Leslie Moeller’s house in Lebanon and was well attended. Photos of the occasion can be found in our Welcome Party Album.

Catechism Week 2019

Bowling Fundraiser 2018

As we do every year, we concluded Catechism Week with our annual bowling fundraiser at McBo’s in Versailles, Ohio. Fun, food, and good conversation accompanied a lot of generous contributions for the replating of our Monstrance. Pictures are available in our Bowling Fundraiser 2018 Album.


Catechism Week 2018

Two sisters and a postulant from the Congregation of the Mother of God (Mater Dei) generously donated their time and skills to educate our youngsters in the Faith. Sarah Peck becomes CMRI Postulant

Miss Sarah Peck has entered the St. Michael’s Convent in Spokane, Washington. She became a postulant for the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen (CMRI) on Dec. 18, 2017, being received Congregation by Fr. Casimir Puskorius, CMRI. She hopes to be accepted as a novice on June 27, 2018, the Feast of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. She joined her biological sister, Sr. Mary Cabrini, CMRI, who will be professing her final vows in the religious life on June 27. Some photos are available in our Sarah Peck CMRI 2018 Album.


Elisabeth Eilerman enters CMD Novitiate

On Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, our parishioner Elizabeth Eilerman entered the novitiate of the Mater Dei Sisters in Omaha and is now known as Sister Maria Gabriella, CMD. We congratulate her and her entire family on this occasion, and we thank God for this tremendous grace. Some photos of the ceremony, in which Sr. Maria Gabriella received the habit and the white veil, are available in our Mater Dei Novitiate Ceremony 2018 Album.


Catechism Week 2017

Our annual summer catechism week took place in early June this year. Volunteer Appreciation for Landscaping Work

During our annual parish meeting on Jan. 15, 2017, the president of our board, Michael E. Ribar, honored the young men of our parish who had made wonderful landscaping improvements around our church. See our Volunteer Appreciation Album.


Christmas 2016

On the Feast of the Nativity on December 25, Fr. Trough offered High Mass for our parish at 11:00 am after a Midnight Mass in Middleville, Michigan. Holy Mass was followed by Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Some pictures of the beautifully decorated church can be viewed in our Christmas 2016 Album.


Painting & Flooring August 2016

In mid-August 2016, the outside of our church finally got a new paint job, and the hardwood floor was restored in the vestibule. We have made a few pictures of the progress available in our Painting & Flooring 2016 Album.


Catechism Week & Bowling Fundraiser 2016

From June 12-19, the Mater Dei Sisters visited us again for our Summer Catechism classes and also completed the gold-leafing of our altar during this time. Corpus Christi 2016

For the first time ever, the parish of St. Therese the Little Flower was able to have a solemn Corpus Christi celebration, on May 29. Pictures of the outdoor procession and the Benediction inside the church are available here.

Confirmations 2016

His Excellency, Bp. Mark Pivarunas, came to visit to administer the sacrament of Confirmation in our parish on February 20. A group picture with the bishop was taken and can be viewed here.


Altar Restoration

During the early summer of 2015, several Mater Dei sisters, aided by a number of parishioners and volunteers, took on the task of renovating the high altar of our parish and the communion rail. The results are breathtaking! See our Altar Restoration Album here.

Confirmations 2015

Christmas 2014

On the Feast of the Nativity on December 25, Fr. Trough offered High Mass for our parish at 9:00 am after a Midnight Mass in Middleville, Michigan. A great number of youngsters made their First Holy Communion and were enrolled in the Brown Scapular after Mass. See our Christmas 2014 Album here.


First Annual Parish Picnic (October 5, 2014)

On October 5, we all met at Armco Park for an enjoyable parish picnic, with lots of food and drink, fun and games, and the company of one another for wholesome conversation and socializing. Solemn Dedication Ceremony (August 6, 2014)

Finally, the big day has arrived: His Excellency, Bp. Mark Pivarunas, CMRI, solemnly dedicates St. Therese the Little Flower Catholic Church. He is accompanied by other priests and a subdeacon. Several Sisters of the Mater Dei Congregation also attend and grace us with their beautiful singing. See our Photo Album here.


Pews installed, Stations of the Cross hung in new Church Building (July 6, 2014)

As of today, all the main work in the nave and sanctuary is complete. See our Photo Album here. The Stations of the Cross have been attached to the walls, and the pews are in place. 


Progress on new Church in Lebanon (July 4, 2014)
